Nobel Prize in Physics 2011: The Nobel Prize in Physics 2011 is awarded to Saul Perlmutter, Brian P. Schmidt and Adam G. Riess "for the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe through observations of distant supernovae". Ariel Goobar has worked with Saul Permutter in the Supernova Cosmology Project from the beginning and we congratulate him and his group for this recognicition of their excellent research.

Our seminars are part of the OKC seminar series:

Here our seminar list will go...

Cosmology, Particle Astrophysics and String Theory

What is CoPS?

The group of Cosmology, Particle astrophysics and String theory (CoPS) is a division at the Physics Department (“Fysikum”) of Stockholm University. The group was formed in 2004 and our research is focused on dark matter (both theory and experiment), dark energy (both theory and experiment), cosmology, string theory and general relativity. We are also members of the Oskar Klein Centre.

For the fall of 2011, we have Paolo Gondolo from University of Utah as a guest.

Group meetings

Every Monday at 12.15 we meet in A5:1041 for a common lunch with a lunch talk by one of the group members.
